A Cry for HELP ~!!

Dear Friends:

I am writing to you on behalf of a very special man, a man who desperately needs help.

Eric Breteau is a humanitarian. He has dedicated his life to helping others. While participating in relief efforts in Bande Ache after the tsunami, a young girl named Zoe lost both her parents. She was alone in the world. In her honor, Eric founded Zoe’s Arch, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving orphans in natural disasters and War.

This fall Eric organized a mission to evacuate orphans from a war zone of Darfur with six other humanitarians and get them to loving hosting/foster families in France. On October 25th, as they prepared to board the plane, Eric and his co-workers (Emily, Alain, Phillippe, Nadia and Domenique) became the innocent victims of a political struggle between the governments of Chad and France. In an instant, Eric’s dream of saving these children from certain death and giving them a loving foster home turned into a nightmare. Eric and his fellow humanitarians were falsely accused of child trafficking and plans to sell the children for use of their organs to Europe. The Chad court sentenced them all to 8 years of hard labor after four days of deliberation. The children to this day have never been returned to their so called relatives and their nationality has never been proven! Each village tribal chief brought the children to the humanitarians and told them they were Orphans. All evidence of the truth and innocence of the Zoe’s Arch humanitarians has been destroyed by the government of Chad and Eric and his team have been falsely accused for political gain of some sort. 75 souls a day continue to die every day in DARFUR. The six have been on a hunger strike since early December to underscore their innocence and fight for hunger and orphans world wide. After two months of imprisonment in Chad, France negotiated to have Eric and the other humanitarians quietly transferred to a maximum security prison in France on December 28th. On January 14th, France will have the opportunity to reduce and re-evaluate the sentence imposed by Chad or, better yet, pardon Eric and his fellow humanitarians. Humanitarians must be protected under the law of human rights. We are all one. I still ask, “How do six individuals gather 103 children without someone stopping them in the villages? How did Zoe’s Arch fly an aircraft into the region and keep it there for weeks with no one questioning or noticing? Where are the parents of these children now? Why would Zoe’s Arch bring a film crew and photographers with them if they were trafficking children? Where are these photos and film footage? Think People! France must stand up in the name of The European Convention of Human Rights and can not validate this sentence of lies and untruth by a dictator!

The media has distorted this story beyond belief. The truth of this matter must be revealed before January 14th. Eric and his team need your help! Please help us spread the truth about this horrible injustice and free Eric and his colleagues. Please forward this email to anyone you know who might be able to help and, in addition, please email it to ten friends who love children. And please say a prayer for the release of these brave souls, the healing of what they have endured, their families, orphans world wide and the individuals that will have the power to set Zoe’s Arch free.

If brave souls STOP daring to make a difference and do all they can to save the innocent; what a world this will become. More death of children.

I have known Eric for twelve years and his wife Agnes for 25 years. My sister, Tricia, and I are the godmothers to their children. We will be flying to France to on January 12th to await the French government’s decision and support Agnes and the children. Please help us let the world know that he is innocent! Time is of the essence.

Peace and light,

Nancy Griffin
